Jersey City is New Jersey's second-most populous city, after Newark. It is Hudson County's county seat, as well as the most populous and largest city (by area). According to the 2020 United States Census, the city's population was 292,449. Jersey City is part of the New York metropolitan area, bordered on the east by the Hudson River and Upper New York Bay and on the west by the Hackensack River and Newark Bay. With 30.7 miles (49.4 km) of waterfront and considerable rail infrastructure and connectivity, the city serves as an important transportation endpoint as well as a distribution and manufacturing center for the Port of New York and New Jersey. The property is a historic refurbished double family house located in Greenville, a dynamic and welcoming area. This is the first time this house will be used as a guesthouse, and while it has been slightly updated to fulfill the purpose, we wanted to leave it as is so that the guests can feel at ease and reminisce, much as when you return to your grandmother's house after a long absence.
The Neighborhood
Jersey City is divided into six wards, with Ward 'A' being the Greenville area, Ward 'B' being the West Side between the Hackensack River to the west and the Hudson River to the east (where the NYhomeBnB is located), and down Liberty State Park. Ward 'C' is the iconic Journal Square in the center, which houses the main PATH rail station. Ward 'D' is the higher section of the Heights, bordering the city of Hoboken, Union City, and the borough of North Bergen, whereas Ward 'E' is clearly the Downtown, which includes the Exchange Place train and bus terminal on the Hudson River. Finally, there is Bergen-Lafayette Ward 'F', which includes City Hall on Grant Avenue. The area is dynamic, young, and welcoming, since everyone knows each other and may greet you when you walk by. No worries, we're close to New York City, but this isn't NYC, and folks here prefer to keep their distance and be nice. So just smile, thank them, and continue on your way.

Things to do in Jersey City
Jersey City is a gorgeous metropolis set on the banks of the Hudson River, and it is New Jersey's second most populous city. Its history dates back to the early 1600s, when a group of Dutch settlers landed on the region and later built Newkirk House, which is now the city's oldest structure. Jersey City is currently a thriving destination featuring some of the state's most popular attractions, including picturesque state parks, world-renowned landmarks, iconic theaters, world-class museums, and dynamic entertainment venues.

- Gawk At The Colgate Clock Landmark
Visiting the historic Colgate Clock in Jersey City, NJ, is a pleasant and easy activity. This landmark, an octagonal clock, faces the Hudson River at Exchange Place in Jersey City, New Jersey. The clock has a circumference of 50 feet and provides spectacular illumination at night. Although it cannot compete with the bright lights of Times Square, the Colgate Clock is enjoyable to view while walking or driving through Jersey City. It's also worth noting that this clock is one of the world's largest, including Colgate's name and emblem. Advertising is rarely done in this manner, so it's a one-of-a-kind addition to the agenda while visiting New Jersey. You can take the HBLR light rail train from Richard Street and arrive at the Exchange Place in downtown Jersey City.

- Honor The Departed At Empty Sky Memorial
The Empty Sky Memorial is a tranquil memorial devoted to the more than 700 innocent New Jerseyans who were tragically killed during the horrible September 11 attacks. It is made up of two equal-sized towering stainless steel walls inscribed with the names of the victims. Visitors can follow a granite trail between the barriers that leads them to Ground Zero, where the World Trade Center once stood. Pay tribute to the deceased by holding a minute of silence and keeping the memory of the unfortunate event.
Hours : Open daily, 6 am - 10 pm
- Watch A Show At Loew's Jersey Theatre
The next idea for individuals in Jersey City, NJ, is to go see a show at Loew's Jersey Theater. This performing arts center, located in Journal Square, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The theater was erected in 1929 and is one of five Loew's Wonder Theaters in the New York City area. Rapp and Rapp created it in the Baroque/Rococo style, and it is still one of the most beautiful theaters in the city and state. Shows cycle in and out of this landmark's doors, thus it is not always open for viewing. The Theater is currently undergoing regular repair and updates, so keep that in mind when planning.
